"The Innocent" Cover Sneak Peek

Sneak peek at the cover for my next novel coming out in December 2014.

In the early seventeenth century Holy Roman Empire, Veronica Junius was the daughter of the mayor of Bamberg during one of the darkest and most heinous periods in the history of Europe. Gruesome and unmerciful witch tortures and witch executions were sweeping across the country, and Bamberg was not exempt. The wicked fox, Prince Bishop Johann Georg Fuchs von Dornheim, has falsely accused Veronica’s father of witchcraft, arrested him, and ordered him to be burned at the stake.

Refusing to heed the warning of her father that she escape Bamberg before she is also accused as a witch, Veronica seeks to save her father and is thrust into a fight which she had never imagined she would be a part and a fight her father wanted her to avoid – a three-way war among the mortals, the witches, and those who use their powers for good.

Unfortunately, the mistakes of her youthful ignorance and inexperience result in the false accusations feared by her father, forcing her to struggle for her own survival. Veronica discovers that her only chance to prove her innocence may be to form an unwanted alliance with one of the most powerful and infamous wielders of magic in the Holy Roman Empire and an unlikely alliance with the prince bishop's nephew with whom she has become unwisely infatuated.

The Innocent is the first book in The Bamberg Trials series by the acclaimed author Stephen Reid Andrews.
